Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using Straffnord products and services.
1. Account Terms
By opening an account with Straffnord International ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. You must be at least 18 years of age to open a personal account. Eligibility is subject to our international client acceptance criteria and applicable jurisdictional requirements.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including your password and any authentication devices. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised access to your account.
We reserve the right to refuse account applications at our sole discretion, in accordance with our regulatory obligations under Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements as mandated by Swiss banking law.
Account holders must provide accurate and up-to-date information. Failure to do so may result in restrictions on your account or account closure.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use your Straffnord account only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the account for any illegal activity, including money laundering, terrorist financing, or fraud.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other accounts, or any related networks.
- Use the platform to send unsolicited communications or spam.
- Misrepresent your identity or provide false information.
- Use automated tools to interact with our platform without our prior written consent.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you are in breach of these terms or if required to do so by a regulatory authority or court order in any applicable jurisdiction.
3. Fees & Charges
Our standard account is free to open and maintain. Certain services and transactions may be subject to fees, which are detailed in our Schedule of Charges available on our website and within the app.
We will give you at least 60 days' notice before introducing any new fees or changing existing ones. Fees may include, but are not limited to:
- International transfer fees and currency conversion margins.
- Replacement card fees for non-standard card types.
- Premium account subscription fees.
- Overdraft interest and fees (where applicable).
All fees are quoted in the applicable currency and are inclusive of any relevant taxes where required.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Straffnord shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.
- Loss of data, revenue, or profits caused by system outages, third-party service failures, or events beyond our reasonable control.
- Unauthorised access to your account resulting from your failure to safeguard your credentials.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law.
Our liability for authorised payment transactions is governed by the terms of our Swiss banking licence and applicable Swiss payment services regulations.
5. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us through the app or by email. We will process your request within 30 days, subject to any outstanding obligations or pending transactions.
We may terminate or suspend your account with immediate effect if:
- You breach these Terms of Service.
- We are required to do so by law, regulation, or a competent authority in any applicable jurisdiction.
- We reasonably suspect the account is being used for illegal purposes.
- You have provided false or misleading information.
Where possible, we will provide you with reasonable notice and an explanation for account closure, unless doing so would compromise security or breach regulatory requirements.
6. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zurich, Switzerland, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any product-specific terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and Straffnord in relation to your use of our services.
